The WhatsApp Desktop app doesn't require a desktop version of WhatsApp on your PC/ installed.

WhatsApp Web and Desktop apps are an extension on your Browser. They mirror all the conversations and messages you have on the WhatsApp app on your phone and allow you to see them all and reply to them all on your PC or Mac using your computer's keyboard instead of the keyboard on your smartphone.

Notifications come in rather consistently, which is the main reason I got this extension. The only problem I have with it is that I can't get microphone access in the extension itself, so that I can record and send audio messages. The other feature that would be greatly appreciated would be if I could change the zoom level inside of the extension popup, so that the entire Whatsapp page could fit in the popup, albeit with smaller fonts etc...
