Extension summary

With this extension you can easily remove or change transparency of any element from selected website. I tried to keep user interface as simple and compact as possible.

Desired transparency can be configured. Setting transparency to 0% will not remove element from DOM tree (it will still occupy space). You can also enable/disable extension using (Ctrl+Shift+A) key combination and undo your actions (Alt+Z). Once enabled it works on all browser tabs.

In order to use Eraser within tabs that were open prior to installing extension please remember to refresh them.

Have fun!

User reviews

[edit] I love this extension <3 :D that being said, please please please, add the option to enable the extension as soon as you click on the icon, because for the past year, while using it (and I do use it quite often) I never once needed to change the options when I click on the icon. The only time I click on it is to enable it, and once enabled you can still click again if one needs to change the options. There's really no need for two clicks when one would suffice :) [/edit] Hey, could you change the behavior of the extension so when you click on the icon it gets automatically enabled (or add an option to enable this kind of behavior)? Also, it would be really useful if while you're hovering over an element you'd add a semitransparent overlay so the user would be able to see exactly the bounds and the contents that are about to be erased. The dotted line is nice but it has a weird delay and sometimes it just refuses to show. Another feature that I'd like to see implemented, that could be very useful sometimes, would be the ability to erase from a webpage all the elements of a certain type. For example, when you're browsing a forum and each post has details like, the time it was posted, the avatar of the user, details about the user, it would be useful if you would have an option that would allow you to click on one of them and erase them from all the posts. (I'm using this extension to clear page elements in order to make pages easily interpreted by TTS engines, so it won't read all kinds of unrelated text) p.s. - I really appreciate that you added an undo button, that's really helpful.
