for a minimalist digital use of social media
and step 1 for minimal use it's not having instagram on your phone but only on your pc so you don't have access at all times eg when you are on the toilet
on the pc you can customize the instagram page with other extensions for example by deleting the home feed the explorer suggested posts
but you are still forced to log in every time to see if someone has written to you (perhaps even for work reasons) and keep logging in to check not exactly sane and minimal
therefore the extension gives you the possibility to be notified on pc in an "elegant" way if someone wrote to you
