| 2024-09-26 |  | | en | When opened the application appears as a separate pop out window and continues to transcribe in the background without interfering with the use of other tabs or applications. No punctuation and occasional transcription mistakes, but on par with other high quality dictation apps. There seems to be a transcription limit of just under 800 words upon opening, which reduces to just under 400 after continuous use without restart (about 6-8 minutes and 2-4 minutes respectively with a fast talking professor). Once the limit is reached transcription ends despite the microphone remaining on and the preexisting text must be copied to a separate application and cleared before dictation can begin again. When the microphone is turned on there is also a slight buffer period before dictation begins so the app is not ideal for catching long strings of information without breaks. Otherwise an amazing STT app. Highly recommend if length of recording or occasional pauses aren't a concern. |
