2021-11-16 | Diego | As soon as I installed the extension my kid uninstalled it. I don't understand why there is an extension for this when the kids can uninstall it.
2021-05-03 | Jimin Lee | I really think that you should add something that warns parents about using this on kids on the older part of the spectrum. I'm 14 years old and this app is extremely frustrating for me. A lot of the times it blocks the wrong things and it takes a while to unblock those sites, which causes a lot of frustration, and on 80% of all Google sites, like if I'm opening someone else's Google Docs or trying to watch a Youtube video, I have to do the ReCaptcha and reload around 7 times, and sometimes even that doesn't work. Imagine you having to go through that multiple times a day. When you're a kid, obviously these things can help you to stay focused, stay away from bad sites, but I definitely think it causes too much inconvenience and stress for a teenager who has to use a computer for everything. It will never teach responsibility, since the parent is forcing "responsibilty". The child will never learn the lesson themselves that screen time can be bad, because they'll be aching for it, they'll want it so bad, and when they finally have the freedom, they're not going to have the responsibility. Please, add something to your page about this issue, and fix the problems I mentioned. This is a big source of my stress and frustration everyday and on top of my other mental issues it gets to be a pretty big deal. I think a lot of parents don't get this and are fine with putting restrictions as long as it keeps their child in check without thinking about the serious consequences especially as the child gets older.

2020-12-06 | Taylor Wilhelm | I don't think anyone should use it, but try it if you want. Pros: -Good for restricting everything, especially for challenges. -Last Resort. Cons: -Again, Last Resort, the last thing you ever want is your number 1 priority sites (e.g. Drive; Gmail; Google; etc.) getting BLOCKED. -Time limits make everything worse, setting a stupid time for a prank is good and fun, but setting it as the limit for EVERY SINGLE DAY, is just straight up unfair(sometimes you can't even change it on a different device). -IT CAN BLOCK SITES BY ITSELF!!!! -In my opinion, I hate restrictions all together.(This con was not part of this review) -On the site, it showed a section of a kid's list of app and games, and I am really not happy with the outcome. 3 things, 1 being that NO ONE EVER RESTRICTS APPS THIS MUCH, I understand some apps as not all apps are meant for kids, but blocking YouTube, Netflix, MINECRAFT...WHY...THAT PERSON HAS TO BE STUPID(what other word was there to use.) TO THINK MINECRAFT IS A SOCIAL MEDIA APP/GAME NOT FOR KIDS, IT'S A GAME, RATED E FOR TaylorMinecraftGaming's SAKE...TMG's sake, what..."VIDEO" GAMES, NOT "distracting games". (Sorry for having that one long, and I forgot 2 and 3. | 2: You can't set more then 4 time limits a day. 3: Only 1 hour? What ever happened to "kids freak-out whenever something of theirs went wrong"? Did it just go non-existent? And why not 2 or 4...or 5. At least a reward for waiting 2-4 hours just to be on it for 1 hour...WOW, just to be on it for 1 hour, how sad.) -The final Con. The thing itself is just straight up full-on, PASD, restricts everything, doesn't care who it is, as long as it's restricted, it will not go away...until 10 years after its been put on the system. This is the longest review I've done, the review might seem like it was all "THIS IS EVIL, WHY IS THIS A THING", but the reason why it's 2 stars and not 1 is because the concept of this app/extension is creative. It's not bad, it's not good either, but restrictiveness...meh, I didn't like restrictions in the 1st place.

2020-11-17 | Hannah Beale | Mobicip continues to work well and is very easy to install on to our laptops. We do not appear to have faced many challenges with the application, which is great! We prefer to use Mobicip over Netnanny, as the installation and monitoring process is much easier.

2020-09-15 | Benjamin Nicholas | As a child, I really liked this. It really helped with keeping me on track, and let my parents be more relaxed. I love how much you can tailor it to suit your needs.

2020-08-15 | Joy L | Works well with Chromebook. Did a good job keeping my daughter safe for the most part. However, with my son who is homeschooled and uses his chromebook to study online it was lacking in the way that you cannot block the playstore. He would then get around it by going on Play store and playing online without downloading instead of studying. Then I moved him to a Macbook air that is very easy to set restrictions with - even without Mobicip. I tried to add mobicip to his Macbook air. It doesn't work on apple products from what I can see. tried everything. |
