It didn't seem to work. I had an eBay page open with a query included in the URL. The icon did not appear in the omnibox (address bar area), but there was an extension icon at the right with all other extensions. I clicked that button and then "Strip Query String", which just opened a new tab to the extension page on the Chrome web store. The eBay page with the query was not reloaded, and the query remained in the address. I also tested with an Amazon url, and the icon didn't appear in the omnibox nor was the query removed when the button was clicked. This extension seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, but I couldn't get it to work. I want an extension that provide the ability to remove the URL query manually. I don't want something that automatically removes tracking queries or anything like that. When I want a query to be remove, I'd like to click a button and have it removed. Simple.
