Would be great to have a "Simple" mode where only a single copy of text is kept. In this mode, launching the extension just opens a new tab and you can start editing.

Compliment 1: First off, great idea, love it. Compliment 2: Second off Big up on the fast implementation (for removing the download permission to keep amount of permissions to a minimum). An adjustment based on customer feedback within 2 hours!? Keep it up & become dev of the year FrFr! My question / Assignment 1: I made a test note and searched to see if I could the text back again, assuming it would be somewhere in the registry, appdata, program files or prefetch as a txt, ink or pf but either I'm a dud or you have done something mad. Where the hell is the text stored? it must be somewhere if its still available in the extension after a restart lol.. So is there any chance you can, make giving ''download permission'' optional again, for those of us who do want to be able to export the text as a file (.txt, .doc, .rtf and/or .pdf)? If you are afraid of more complaints similar to Jim's then display a big red banner emphasizing that ''IT IS NOT NECCESARY to give these permissions unless you want to export the file and this setting can always be changed by pressing button x'' Assignment 2: Try and see if you can find a way to read my notes. If somehow you can then obviously don't shout it from the .google rooftops but, you will find my e-mail address and I can help you out to make the app more secure and fully compliant with the UK and EU The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) laws. Signing off with; Drink more water, cheers, much love and have a great day! End of rant. :)

my favorite plain text editor. "Needs no special permissions." is false, it asked for permission today. it now wants to manage or enable downloads.

Loved the idea...few suggestions :) Hiya, this is super handy for my brain dump👍 2 feature requests: a. I understand the file gets saved locally now. Any way to have a Google Drive save option too so that the files get saved in my connected Google drive and can be accessed from my mobile for viewing/editing? b. Possible to provide a check-box option for maintaining a Todo List? Once done, I can check off the items.
