Surfaces video ratings (likes and dislikes) for related and featured videos. | It shows a whole number ratio of likes over dislikes of a youtube video |
Full summary | |
We all browse YouTube on a fairly if not extremely regular basis. We sometimes wonder into the deep dark parts of YouTube and often click on a thumbnail thinking it's a video that's truly "Related", only to find it has about 5,000 dislikes, and is some awful home-made video. YouTube True Ratings, will surface the green and red like / dislike graphic - as you will find underneath the videos. Additionally, on mouse over, it will show you the total amount of likes and dislikes a video has, using live data. Enjoy, and please report bugs - It's fairly new and am happy to update! Known Limitations:
|
Real likability of a YouTube video is defined mostly by how less number of people actually disliked it. YouTube also has a 'Sentiment Bar' to show the ratio. But most of the time it looks like a thin underline bar below Like-Dislike buttons. The reason being the fact that this ratio is almost always greater than 10. And a 100/1 ratio video doesn't stand out from a crowd of tonnes of average 10/1 videos, because the bar looks almost same for all of them. This extension shows a ratio of 'Number of likes' over 'Number of dislikes' of the video in a neat intuitive design. VERSION 2.0 - Fixes the issue where the ratio was not showing at all for YouTube in languages other than English. DISCLAIMER:
