User reviews

Users appreciate The RSS Aggregator for its simplicity, absence of ads and login requirements, and reliable performance managing many feeds. It effectively replicates the classic Opera RSS experience and updates frequently. However, common complaints include poor 'mark as read' functionality, lack of dark mode customization, occasional feed update failures, and missing features like automatic read marking and saved login credentials. Despite these limitations, it remains favored for its straightforward and no-nonsense approach to RSS aggregation.
Pros
  • Simple and functional RSS reader without ads or subscription fees.
  • No login or bloatware required, easy to use and effective.
  • Good at handling large numbers of feeds and episodes.
  • Works well on various Chromium browsers, including older versions.
  • Provides regular feed updates, with option to refresh every 5 minutes.
Cons
  • Lacks a fully functional 'mark as read' feature; marking only changes text color or requires manual action.
  • No dark mode customization; users find the default dark mode too harsh.
  • Missing features like automatic marking of articles as read after opening and the ability to open new articles in new tabs automatically.
  • Issues with feed updating occasionally failing or not showing new content.
  • No ability to save login credentials for feeds requiring authentication.

Lacking in the most basic of features. You can TECHNICALLY mark things as read, but it just changes the color of the text. You can't even hide read items.
