What is Search in Splunk?
Search in Splunk is a Chrome extension that adds the ability to search for selected text directly in your Splunk web GUI. Simply right-click on any selected text, add it to your Splunk search query, and open Splunk in a new tab. You can also configure the extension to set a default timespan for the search. Convert selected text to date(time) and create the appropriate timeslot as a parameter for the Splunk search.

Extension summary

The plugin extends your context menu, where you add search text to look for in your splunk web gui. The url to your splunk web gui must be configured in the options menu of the extension. In the options menu you can define the default timespan to search in as well.

The plugin tries to convert the selected text in a date(time) and creates the appropriate timeslot as parameter for the splunk search.

Nice work! It would be even better if it had ability to AND/OR with search verbiage, e.g., "index=webappserver host= xxxx123 OR host= xxxx134".
