Summary

Sidestepper is a combined tab group manager and command palette to make it easy to find the information you need to get serious browser research done.

If you've got 10's or even 100+ tabs open, sidestepper helps you stay organised and productive.

Available on every page in a drawer mode, you can see all the open tabs & groups with thumbnails, bookmarks and history for the website you're viewing. No more Tab Tango.

A command palette lets you search history, bookmarks and commands to speed up your browsing. Assign custom keyboard shortcuts to any history link or bookmark.

If you've got a wide or second monitor there's also a detached mode, so you can always have everything you need in plain sight. Switch tab groups, see all tabs and focus on the one you need.

When you move your mouse over the sidebar it focusses it straight away for you - saving you the trouble of the extra click every time.

Pin your favourite websites to the top of the domain stack, so you can easily access them.

Drag and drop tabs between groups or into a new group.

I'm curious if there is ever going to be any web browser that is better than Firefox 52 for more than just browsing Youtube videos, since Google DESTROYED the site with mountains of #JavaHell & other nonsense 2 deliberately $abotage it so every browser that wants 2 play it fast REQUIRES their 'chrome' rendering engine (like Thorium, which is WAAAY better than 'Google Chrome' =) This 'sidestepper' addon trash is the typical absurd space-wasting absurd counter-intuitive puzzle box hiding functions behind icons when there's plenty of room for a list of the commands as words in text like a menu bar, & burns up literally more than 10X more space than is needed 2 display the same ammount of information about tabs & lists of things than is needed. The fact that so many people have lost their mind & design their $hit as if it needs 2 B used on a little smart phone spaced out so they can tap in commands with their big toe is insane, & forces me to use 'retro' browsers like Firefox 52 (from portableapps.com) for the vast majority of things = the ONLY web browser that saves all your settings locally in a single folder & doesn't need 2 'sync 2 cloud' & is single threaded so doesn't WASTE mountains of RAM when browsing HUNDREDS of tabs, nor does it WASTE about 5X the space 2 display the same # of tabs, & can fit way more menu items & tabs in the same interface because not following the 'type with your toes' spread out cell phone style garbage. When U need 2 do actual work with your computer, stick with portable Firefox 52. All the addons are available as a big zip on archive.org, & 4 N E site that is slow or buggy or whatever, use Thorium (like I am here writing this) as it's WAAAY faster than 'Google' chrome & also runs on XP without problems = which is the OS U want 2 use if U want speed & stuff, becaus only need 5 processes running instead of a bazillion, etc. ~> https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium-legacy https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium-legacy/releases/tag/M122.0.6261.168 https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium-legacy/releases/download/M122.0.6261.168/Thorium_122.0.6261.168_WINXP_x32.zip BTW: If U want a browser that is even faster than Thorium, (or even Firefox) try 'Opera 12' =) It can run all the way back 2 Windows '95! =D It's written from a time when 'so-called programmers' spent most of their time sabotaging stuff 2 make it worse, & instead wanted 2 make their stuff quick & E Z 2 use & fast enough 4 the 'slow' hardware of the era. It won't run on all sites though, as the 'design languages' for pages have 'expanded' 2 include so many different 'options' nobody actually ever needed, including for playing videos LOL ~> https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/opera-portable-legacy-12 = For 'regular' style web pages, regardless of length (especially with gigantic pages =) it's around 20X (twenty times) faster than 'modern' browsers =D Firefox 52 isn't far behind, but 'latest greatest' Firefox & Chrome are extremely slow by comparison, & also eat hundreds of times more RAM 2 do the same stuff. I can see this as all being ripe for comedy skits, like a dystopian 'joke future' where every program menu option takes up the entire screen & U have 2 tap thruogh them 2 C wat U kandoo, & nobody has a keyboard, but just a single button, & 2 type they must hold it 4 different durrations or tap morse code 2 generate a single character as they go = kind of like 'Apple puts the wheel on a laptop instead of keyboard' kind of thing, but worse ~ & everybody is a tranny, & each day has a different sort of crime the 'migrants' & others R 'allowed' 2 do against the 'goy-tard peasants' LOL ~> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BnLbv6QYcA Chrome guys! U R not making the interface waste enough space!!! Please make the 'frame' around each icon take up 5X more space, because WASTING 2 or 3X is just not 'modern' enough, like yor drop-down menus = far 2 'cluttered' 2 have them WASTING 3X the line space with emptiness = 'outlaw' single spacing! =))

As somebody who regularly lets the number of tabs get into triple figures, this extension is a godsend. Being able to find tabs quickly and organise them effortlessly is a huge timesaver. Strongly recommended for anyone who has more than a handful of tabs open at a time (i.e. almost everybody!)
