2024-10-06 | Megan Sutton | en | I was using an extension called "forever pinned" but it got the Google store message warning: "This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions." it does what I would like it to do, except I have one caveat: the ability to designate to launch my saved tabs upon opening Chrome, and on that note, only on the first window I open. this is what "forever pinned" did and I am so used to it, that it would be nice to see that implemented into this extension. | |
2024-08-01 | David Schulman | en | I was using "Save Pinned Tabs" extension, but now that comes with the Google store message warning: "This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions." I used the native Chrome Tab Groups for the last 3-4 months. But, the fact that it dynamically adds and deletes tabs to and from the group made the whole process messy. I might want fewer or more tabs in a group in that moment, but I don't want it changing the contents of the group for the next instance. I liked the shortcut buttons on the toolbar. But, aside from that, the dynamic adding and deleting tabs in a group became a pain. So I tried this. Works great. Simple, clean, does the trick. And no compatibility warnings. Oops, I found a design issue for my use case - unlike Saved Pinned Tabs, this extension doesn't allow you to create groups with tabs already opened in other windows. I understand the conservation of memory, but I like having two windows with my email, calendar and drive open in both, without being forced to move tabs from window to window. |
