Summary
Google Calendar used to have a natural language input to create calendar events. Think "Get groceries next Thursday from 3:30 to 5pm". They deprecated this feature, leaving millions of unhappy users in the process.
'Rip Quick Add' is an open source chrome extension aiming to fix this issue, and this extension is based of that, but with several quality of life features added.
For example: press 'Command + E' (Ctrl + E
on Windows) to pull up a text input to add your event details.
UPDATE: Now supporting recurring events. Just make sure to include a number for recurrences. Examples: Get dinner with friends Friday at 5pm every 3 weeks Go the grocery story on Thursday night every 1 week Note the "1" is needed for weekly occurrences. Supports daily, weekly, and monthly recurrences.
If the extension doesn't work for you, go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts
to see what other extensions are using the Command+E
shortcut, and change them to something else.
