Steam Market History Cataloger

Indexes your Steam Market transactions to be viewable within the extension and exportable to JSON and CSV.

Steam Market History Cataloger

Steam Market History Cataloger is a powerful Chrome extension designed to help users track, view, and export their transactions on the Steam Community Market. Unlike Steam's built-in interface, which doesn't offer easy access to detailed transaction data, this extension indexes your market activity locally, allowing you to browse and filter through all your listings in various languages and currencies.

Key features include loading transaction history from your Steam account, storing the data in a local browser database, and viewing it in an intuitive, responsive interface within the extension. Additionally, users can export their transaction data in JSON and CSV formats, facilitating analysis or record keeping. The extension supports background transaction loading (optional) and enhances navigation by displaying 100 results per page for easier browsing of Steam Market history. Note that this tool is not affiliated with Valve or Steam.

This extension benefits avid Steam Community Market users who want more control and transparency over their market transactions.

User reviews

The Steam Market History Cataloger is acclaimed for its useful features like exporting data and a user-friendly interface, helping users organize and analyze their Steam Market trades effectively. Users praise the developer's responsiveness and the extension's convenience. However, common issues include incomplete loading of large transaction histories, bugs related to currency display especially with decimals, occasional malfunction due to Steam API changes, and lack of advanced profit analytics. Performance can degrade significantly with very large datasets, and some users request additional features like current market prices and detailed profit calculations.
Pros
  • Provides a convenient way to view and organize Steam Market history and transactions.
  • Allows exporting market history to formats like .json and .csv.
  • User interface is well designed and easy to use, making market history analysis accessible.
  • Responsive developer who fixes issues promptly and supports multiple currencies.
  • Helps users track profits and analyze trading performance over long and short periods.
Cons
  • Extension sometimes fails to work due to Steam specification changes or errors, requiring updates.
  • Limited loading capacity: cannot load more than around 700-200,000 transactions reliably, limiting full market history visibility.
  • Issues with currency handling: small decimal amounts and certain currencies (e.g., VND, CHF) are displayed inaccurately or not supported properly.
  • Lack of overall profit calculation per item and no display of current market prices for comparison.
  • Performance problems with large datasets causing browser crashes or extension unresponsiveness.

Works good, but is only loading up to 700 market transactions, I already changed the settings but it seems not to load more than that. I am limited to see the market transactions only untill 2020.
