'OpenSwitchMaps' is a user-friendly Chrome extension specially designed for map enthusiasts, researchers, and even developers. It allows users to easily switch between various map services including but not limited to Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, and Mapillary. This seamless transition between maps occurs at the same position, enabling comparative studies, research or map development. It also offers quality assurance tools for OpenStreetMap contributors. Additional settings include show/hide maps, useful for customizing one’s map exploration experience.

How to use

  • Open Google maps, for example
  • Click OpenSwitchMaps icon
  • Select OpenStreetMap, for example
  • You can open OpenStreetMap at the same position with Google maps
  • Left click: Open in the same tab. Middle click: Open in a new tab.

Settings Show/hide maps:

  • Right click the earth icon,
  • Select "Options"
  • Check/uncheck each map to show/hide it.
