2024-10-02 | callanyonefrompc | en | I tried three other extensions before this one that claimed to work, but didn't work at all. This one works, but only around 50% of the time. Also, this extension makes some streams unwatchable because the streams will completely freeze and never unfreeze. Disabling this extension will make those streams work again. It is weird how the freezing only affects some streams. Even though this extension does work better than some others that don't work at all, it is not as good as the solution below. UPDATE: I have found the best solution for Twitch Ads. Basically install the Twitch Ad Solutions userscript. If you don't install the userscript, you can still use Twitch Ad Solutions in other formats like by tweaking uBlock Origins. But my advice is to just use the userscript because it is the easiest and fastest to install and it will auto update itself. What Twitch Ad Solutions does is during ads it will switch to a low quality version of the stream while the ad is playing on the actual stream. Then when the ad is finished, it will switch back to the high quality main stream. I like this method because there are no freezes, it successfully blocks all ads and not just some, you can't hear the ads, you don't see any black screens, etc. Basically, you get to see the live stream at all times, just sometimes it will be temporarily blurry (not by much) until the ad is finished playing. | |
