| 2013-05-04 |  | | en | Awesome! There's a prior review that said it's not free. It is free. It uses common core curriculum. If you want to customize your curriculum, you'll need to upgrade. Also, you get a choice of around 10 avatars. More avatars and games come with the upgrade. At first I thought it was too expensive. I homeschool my 4 kids it is $3.99 per year for each child. It would have been almost $200. I called to ask about multiple child discounts and I was advised to sign up as a teacher. I got all of my kid signed up for $4.99 a month and it's 20% off if you pay the year in full. For a total of $48, that gave me the upgrade features as a teacher, but not my kids. I can customize their curriculums, but they have limited avatar choices and game access (The games looked lame. Most of what I glanced at could be played with a pencil.) Parent accounts are also 20% off for a 12 month payment and 10% off for 6 months. The reports are very easy to read and yet very detailed. The lessons are self-paced. My biggest complaint is that it's only math and language. I'd love to see science. They do have a reading log for the kids to fill out, a spelling assignment feature available (BYO lists), and a place for assigning projects. They have an awesome reward system. The kids earn points (optional) for correct questions. They can use the points to purchase things you've put on their rewards page. It's linked to Amazon. They have a limited selection to add to their "wish list" and you can add any reward that you want to make available to them (Amazon or not). BTW If you create custom learning paths using a premium feature, wouldn't you expect that feature to go away when the trial ends? |

YOU PAY! They're even making students (their parents) PAY MONEY just to pick out their own avatar. What a deplorable money making scheme (my students' parents can barely afford their home and the food on their table). Not only that, but if your subscription runs out, even for less than a day, all the time you spent creating custom learning paths for your students will be deleted.... they'll tell you it isn't deleted, then be useless when you ask for help. Find a better program for your students; this isn't it. |
| 2013-02-17 |  | | en | Excellent app, woeful support. I am trying the 'trial' premium model which worked well for 10 days. Subsequently, the 'generate practice' feature stopped working. Without this feature, the app is useless. I saw a note on their blog stating this is fixed. It is not. The dialog states wait for 1 minute to generate practice. This does not work after having waited 5 days. In the meantime, i do not have any acknowledgment or response for the support ticket filed. Very useful app if the platform is stable and the customer support responsive. If this is not fixed, with a valid response as to why this was not responded to or looked into for a week, i would not continue with my monthly subscription. |
