en Newsela is a great app to use to integrate literacy across the curriculum. It allows you to assign articles based on your content area. You can differentiate by assigning student different versions of the text based on lexiles. They also have some articles translated into Spanish.

en One of the best educational apps for reading there is! You can not only find articles based on difficulty level (and they can increase/decrease the difficulty on the same subject), you can also search based on what standard you are teaching or what concept you are teaching to your students. You can also find text sets, and great non-fiction connectors to whatever fictional book your students are reading. I use it when I teach my historical fiction and to make current-event connections for their research projects and persuasive essays.
