Etsu Meusy’s work has been described as “sunny and clean†by Giant Robot and “nostalgia-tinged 70s and 80s pop cultural pastiches†by Coolhunting. Etsu blends together paint, hand drawn typography and the odd guest appearance from 80s icons like Axl Rose and the Smurfs to create dreamy rainbow colored landscapes. Her artwork has been featured in Nylon magazine and art books by Die Gestalten.
David Lanham’s day job is working at the Iconfactory creating computer icons like Amora for OSX which was inspired by Chris Cunningham’s android-esque music video for Björk. But even in his downtime he can’t stop creating art: when he heads home in the evening he creates pieces of artwork that look as if they have been culled straight out of his own manga movie. David also has a character called Zog who has been made into a vinyl toy by StrangeKiss.
Before starting his illustrating career, Zeptonn spent several years at university acquiring a degree in Artificial Intelligence. A little doodling in the lecture halls lead to doodling some t-shirt graphics, which spiraled into a clothing line and skateboarding team. Zeptonn has since turned his back on being a skate mogul and turned himself into a one-man design army, so that he can focus on doing the thing he loves most - illustrating colorful worlds populated with critters.
Paulo Arraiano is an illustrator, magazine art director, clothing mogul for Palm urban wear and a teacher at Restart School of Creativity and New Technologies in Lisbon. Linking all of these are his signature illustrations which he describes as “supafreackyfunny creatures from distant worlds and realities who are invited to be placed in as many mediums as possible whether it is on a piece of clothing, as a toy, a skateboard, or on a wallâ€.
San Francisco artist Reuben Rude has worked for years as a colorist in the comics industry on titles like Spawn and Savage Dragon. His personal artwork, especially the layered backdrops to his paintings, is inspired by his hometown: "I love all the great walls covered with tattered posters, graffiti, spattered paint and stickers, decaying with time. These unintentional collaborative collages influence me".
