Vandal

Navigator for Web Archive

Vandal is a lightweight Chrome extension designed to facilitate easy navigation of web archives directly within your current browser tab. Utilizing the Wayback Machine API, it offers unique features such as a Calendar View for quick date selection with archival stats, a Graph View for visualized year and month navigation, and a built-in Navigator with standard browsing controls. Additional functionalities include a Navigation Panel for swift snapshot browsing, a History Panel to track your website navigation, and a Resource Drawer to inspect timestamp differences of archived resources like images and scripts. Vandal also features a beta Historical View that visualizes website snapshots over the years. As an open-source project under AGPLv3, Vandal complements the Wayback Machine by focusing on ease-of-use and efficient archive exploration. Note that some websites may not be supported, with prompts advising use of the Wayback Machine when necessary. Explore more at the official website and GitHub repository.

Extension safety

High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Vandal requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
