## Description

**UltraWideo** removes black bars and lets you zoom any online video to fill your display, whether you use an ultrawide monitor, 16:9 screen, TV, or watch older 4:3 content. It works across Netflix, YouTube, and other video sites in both fullscreen and inline modes, with automatic video detection—even for small or nested players.

Choose from Normal, Upscale to fill, Stretch to fit, and Custom zoom modes. Fine-tune the frame with scale and pan controls, gestures, and customizable keyboard shortcuts. UltraWideo also offers light and dark themes, accent colors, auto-hiding controls, reduced motion, and support for 40+ languages. ## Review summary

UltraWideo is praised for removing ultrawide letterboxing by stretching videos to fill the screen across many sites, improving viewing on widescreen monitors. It also has a nicer UI and broad cross-site support. Common concerns center on a free-version watermark, subtitle display issues in fullscreen on some services, and paid features behind a subscription (often requiring a GitHub account) without a clear trial. Occasional cropping or plugin-specific fullscreen glitches are also reported.

### Pros

- Removes black bars on ultrawide displays by stretching videos to fill the screen across many sites.
- UI is nicer and easier to use than some alternatives.
- Works across a broad range of sites (YouTube, VK, Disney+, etc.) and enables true fullscreen aspect ratios.
- Helpful for widescreen content (anime, etc.) and supports stretch mode for the best fit.

### Cons

- Watermark in the free version, which many users find immersion-breaking or distracting.
- Subtitles do not display or are misaligned when stretched or in fullscreen on some streaming sites (Disney+, Apple TV+, etc.).
- Premium features are gated behind a paid subscription and may require a GitHub account, with little or no way to trial features before paying.
- Fullscreen/viewport issues on certain sites (some videos crop or appear as half-screen; Plex fullscreen problems).
- Hotkeys can be unreliable.
