## Description

Startup Lock password-protects your browser. Every time Firefox starts, it locks all tabs behind a password screen — no browsing is possible until you enter the correct password.

It uses two passwords:

Unlock password — unlocks normally and reopens the tabs you had open.

Duress (wipe) password — a panic password. Entering it silently erases all browsing data (history, cookies, cache, saved logins, downloads, and more) and opens a single blank tab, with no warning and no visible difference from a normal unlock.

Other features
- Auto re-locks after a configurable idle timeout (default 10 minutes).
- Passwords are never stored in plain text — only salted PBKDF2 hashes, computed on your own device.
- No data collection, no analytics, no network requests. Everything stays on your computer.

Please note the limitations. Startup Lock is a deterrent and a panic-wipe tool, not full security. It does not stop Firefox Safe Mode, removing the add-on, using a different profile, or someone reading the profile folder directly on disk. For strong protection, combine it with a separate operating-system account and full-disk encryption.
