Peaks and ridges in the mountains, islands, capes, harbours and lighthouses by the sea, stars and constellations at night: the phone names the landscape through the camera. The French IGN map that works with no signal, a forecast fine enough to decide whether to turn back, and everything free but the weather module.

IGN MAPS, OFFLINE, FREE

• Alps, Pyrenees, Corsica, Massif Central and the French coasts — over a hundred thousand landmarks bundled in, usable with no network
• Only those that truly clear the terrain are named: Earth curvature and refraction included
• By the sea, the horizon distance is given from your eye height
• Compass thrown off by a pack frame or a magnetic case? Aim at the sun or the moon: the error is measured and corrected with one button

THE SKY MAP
• Raise the phone at night: sixteen hundred stars, the figures of the 88 constellations, the visible planets and the moon with its phase
• Everything is computed on the device: the sky map works in airplane mode, at the bivouac
• What the ridge opposite hides is not drawn — the sky stops where the mountain begins
