## Description

OverbiteNX is an experimental Firefox addon designed to seamlessly enable legacy Gopher protocol access in Firefox 59 and above. By utilizing the Onyx native Gopher component, it bypasses WebExtensions limitations allowing direct network access to Gopher resources. This free and open-source tool supports Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.

Though experimental and primarily meant for advanced users, OverbiteNX provides a bridging solution for those preferring not to rely on third-party HTTP-to-Gopher proxies. Installation involves adding the extension and downloading or building the Onyx component. Users are advised to disable the OverbiteWX addon if installed to avoid conflicts. While in development, users may encounter debugging logs and some limitations like proxy support absence and internal URL representation in the browser bar. OverbiteNX promotes continued access to the fast and useful Gopherspace services with full network connectivity.
