## Description

Important: Due to Reddit updates, login is now required to access the old layout :-(

Feature disguised as a bug: Opening specific paths (like your notifications) while the Old Reddit Switch is ON can cause 404/errors. Right now, the trick is to turn OFF the Old Reddit Switch before clicking to the path (which means you'll inevitably go to the new layout to see that page :/)

Note: The toggle only redirects from new Reddit to old Reddit. Turning it off while on old.reddit will not return you to new Reddit, and links clicked in old.reddit will continue opening there.

To go back to the new interface: simply replace
old.reddit.com
with
www.reddit.com
in the URL and press Enter.

(Alternatively, you can remove
old.
entirely; both will take you back to the new Reddit interface.)

Hate the new Reddit layout?

You’re not alone.

And yeah... it’s awful.

We’ve seen it too:

Sidebars eating your screen space

Everything crammed into a narrow column

Inconsistent clicks that open posts in new tabs… or don’t

And worst of all?

No easy way to go back.

This extension fixes all of that for you.

It automatically redirects reddit.com to old.reddit.com:
✅ A cleaner layout that doesn’t waste screen space
✅ None of Reddit’s confusing, bloated redesign decisions
✅ A quick toggle to turn it off anytime (if you ever want to)

Brings back the classic Reddit desktop experience for your communities.

It even skips image previews and embedded media redirects so nothing breaks.

And yes, it reloads your open Reddit tabs so the switch feels instant.

Just turn it on and it’s like the new Reddit never existed.

Private by design.

All logic runs in your browser.

No ads. No tracking. No data collection.

Just a simple switch…

Back to old Reddit.

Heads up:

The toggle only redirects from new Reddit → old Reddit.

Turning the switch off while on old.reddit will not return you to new Reddit, and all links you click on old.reddit will continue to open in the old layout.

If you want to go back to the new Reddit interface, you need to navigate manually to reddit.com.

Tip: If something doesn’t work as expected, you can temporarily turn it off, then switch it back on anytime.

This extension stays free thanks to people like you.
If it saved you time or made browsing easier, help keep it fast, private, and free.
