Short description
Scans QR codes using your webcam. Quick emoji reactions for muted team members
Full summary

Scans QR codes and displays their contents on a Chromebook or other computer with a suitable webcam. What's a "suitable" webcam? It's one that can focus the QR code within the red square in the app sharply enough that the app can decode it. My test results:

  • Chromebook Pixel: yes
  • Samsung ARM Chromebook: yes
  • Acer C7 Chromebook: yes
  • CR48: yes
  • 2009 MacBook Pro: yes, except for very small, dense QR codes
  • 2011 iMac: no, unless the QR code is ridiculously large (over one foot across)

If Chrome implements an API to let developers adjust camera-focus settings, I'll be able to improve the app to work with more cameras.

When running larger meetings in Google Meet, it can be difficult to gauge real-time feedback as you are speaking. Nod allows team members to send real-time reactions to presenters and speakers during meetings on Google Meet.
