It talks phone-to-phone over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct, building a small mesh of devices near you. Step into range, and you&#39;re in the conversation. Step out, and you&#39;re not. There is no server in the middle.<br><br><b>No account. No email. No phone number.</b><br>Open the app, pick a nickname, you&#39;re done.<br><br><b>Built for the dead zones.</b><br>Remote hikes, basements, planes, summer camps, road trips. Anywhere a group of people has phones and no working internet.<br><br><b>Fires, not feeds.</b><br>A &quot;fire&quot; is just a chatroom. Create one and anyone in Bluetooth range can wander over.<br><br>Permissions, plainly:<br>- Nearby devices (Bluetooth) — so your phone can find and be found by others.<br>- Notifications — so you hear messages on your lock screen.<br><br>CampChat is in beta.
