Cousin Sharky - URL Examiner

Show <script> tags lurking in URLs.

Bad things can happen if you click on a link with javascript in it. Cousin Sharky checks the URL only for the opening script tag and blocks you from opening the link. You then have to option to proceed or not.

You may choose to whitelist a link if it's safe. Whitelisted URLs are stored to your browser only.

Cousin Sharky lies silently in the background as you surf the internet. If you click a link with a script tag (which may be potentially harmful), it alerts you right away. Clicking on the extension icon will not appear to do anything because this extension is only triggered when you click or type a URL in the address bar.

At no point is your personal data required, needed or stored.

You may never need this extension but think of it as great insurance in the event you ever need it!

Just add it to your arsenal as you navigate the world wide web.

Surf safely out there :)

Extension safety

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Cousin Sharky - URL Examiner requires a lot of sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Chrome extension may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Chrome extension reputation on Chrome Web Store, the amount of time the Chrome extension has been around, and other signals about the Chrome extension. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Chrome extension.

Cousin Sharky - URL Examiner may not be trust-worthy. Avoid installing if possible unless you really trust this publisher.
