User reviews

Users praise Tab Session Manager for effectively saving and restoring numerous tabs, simplifying browser session management, and supporting cross-browser session transfers. However, multiple users report issues with saving tab groups properly, occasional total loss of saved sessions, and conflicts with other extensions causing tab glitches. Some also note problems with local file handling and incomplete history preservation. Overall, the add-on is valued for ease of use and session backup capabilities but has reliability concerns that cause data loss for some users.
Pros
  • Effectively manages and restores many tabs, preventing loss due to crashes or accidental closures.
  • Supports moving and exporting sessions between different browsers and operating systems.
  • Automatic backups help safeguard sessions, reducing stress from unexpected browser issues.
  • Simple, functional, and easy-to-use interface appreciated by users.
  • Enables better organization and management of work-related tabs and topics.
Cons
  • Fails to save and retain tab groups properly, merging all tabs into one window group.
  • Occasional loss of all saved sessions without clear recovery options, leading to frustration.
  • Some interference or conflict with other extensions causes unexpected behavior like duplicate sessions or reversed tab order.
  • Local files in sessions do not open correctly, and tab histories may not be preserved.
  • Recovery from crashes not foolproof; some users prefer relying on built-in browser options or manual backups.
Recent reviews
As someone who opens wayyyy to many tabs at one time, this has been an incredibly helpful tool for me. I also don't have to stress if my computer freezes or anything like that. - re: to the commenter above (Based), you can change whether or not it saves tab groups in the options (I believe it requires an additional plugin...)
