We add new diesel engines with the help of the people who drive them. We are already working on Peugeot/Citroën 1.6 HDi/BlueHDi and 2.0 HDi, Renault 1.6 dCi (R9M), Mercedes 2.1/2.2 CDI (OM651) and Fiat 1.3 MultiJet. We send you a test version: drive a few trips with your OBD2 dongle and send us the data, which the app exports without personal information. DPF Guard connects to your OBD2 Bluetooth dongle and reads diesel particulate filter (DPF/FAP) data directly from the engine ECU, in real time.

WHAT IT MONITORS
• DPF soot mass, with a progress bar and warning thresholds
• Regeneration status: a red "REGENERATING" badge while the ECU is cleaning the filter
• Passive regeneration: when the DPF is hot and soot is falling, an amber "PASSIVE REGEN" badge
• DPF inlet temperature and differential pressure
• Km since the last regeneration, counted by the app from the vehicle odometer
• Soot left after the last regeneration and failed regeneration attempts
• Total vehicle km, speed, coolant temperature, battery voltage

FREE FOR EVERY CAR
• Engine tab: standard OBD2 data such as RPM, temperatures, target and actual rail pressure, injection timing, battery voltage. Only the parameters your car supports are shown; reorder the cards or hide the ones you don't need.
• Diagnostics tab: check-engine light and stored, pending and permanent trouble codes, with a description. Read only: codes are never cleared, so no fault is hidden.
• Your engine isn't supported for DPF monitoring? Choose "Other engine" and use these two tabs on any car.

PLANNER: YOUR CAR'S DEADLINES
• Service, oil, filters, timing belt, insurance, road tax, inspection: due by date, by km or both (whichever comes first)
• Repeating reminders: mark one as done and the next one is created from the date and km of the job
• Morning notifications, and "Nag me until it's done" for the ones you can't afford to forget
• Mileage read from the car while the dongle is connected (Pro, where the car provides it), or typed in by hand
• Several cars, each one recognised when you plug in the dongle (Pro)
• History of the work done
The Planner also works without a dongle. Free with 1 car and 2 reminders.

NOTIFICATIONS
If a regeneration starts while the phone is in your pocket, DPF Guard notifies you — so you know not to switch off the engine at the wrong moment. Planner reminders arrive even with the app closed.

COMPATIBILITY
• Requires an ELM327-based OBD2 Bluetooth adapter (Bluetooth Low Energy or Classic). Tested with vLinker / Vgate iCar2.
• Vehicles with CAN bus (OBD2 over ISO 15765). Older K-line protocols (KWP2000, ISO 9141) are not supported.
