Most 3D printing apps are a notebook with a spool counter bolted on. SpoolForgeBench reads what you logged and tells you what to change.

ONE CHANGE, NOT FIVE
Log what the print ran at — nozzle, bed, speed, layer height, flow, retraction, fan — then tick what went wrong with it. Strings, blobs and drooping overhangs point one way. Gaps, splits and weak layers point the other. Popping and furry walls mean the filament is wet, whatever else the part looks like, and the app says so instead of sending you round the temperature tower again. It never suggests two competing changes in the same print, because then you learn nothing about either.

A RACK THAT WATCHES THE CLOCK
Every spool tracks its grams and how long it has been out of the vacuum bag. Each material has a dry window measured in soak-days, and how you store the spool sets how fast that clock runs: a vacuum bag barely moves it, a dry box runs it at about a third speed, an open shelf at full speed. Nylon, TPU and PVA on a shelf are past their window in a fortnight; PLA in a sealed box lasts months. Whatever is closest to ruined sits at the top of the rack.

A DRYER TIMER THAT MEANS SOMETHING
Each material carries its own dry recipe — 45 °C for four hours for PLA, 80 °C for twelve for nylon. Run the cycle with the screen held awake, mark it finished, and the spool reads as dry again because it is. Stopping before half way does not count, because it dries the outside of the coil and leaves the core wet.

TWELVE MATERIALS THAT KNOW THEMSELVES
PLA, tough PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU 95A, nylon PA6, polycarbonate, PLA-CF, PETG-CF, HIPS and PVA — each with a temperature window, bed, fan, speed, retraction, dry recipe, temperature-tower plan and a first-layer checklist. The nozzle dial has hard stops at the material range, so a bad week cannot walk PLA up to 260 degrees.

TUNED PER SPOOL, NOT PER MATERIAL
Two spools of the same PETG rarely want the same temperature. Log a print that came out right and pin its numbers to that spool; every new print on it starts there instead of at the preset.

WEIGH IT IN
Slicer estimates drift a few grams per print and it adds up over a kilogram. Put the whole spool on a kitchen scale, type the reading, and the app subtracts the empty-spool weight and corrects the total in one move.
