User reviews
GDevelop is praised as a powerful, beginner-friendly game development app with intuitive visual scripting and a rich asset store. It's particularly lauded for enabling creativity and ease of use without coding. However, multiple users highlight significant limitations on the Android app compared to the desktop version, including locked essential features behind paywalls, frequent crashes, cloud dependency causing saving and asset importing issues, and UI challenges on mobile devices. While great as a learning and demo tool, many find the mobile app restrictive and unstable for serious or complex game development.
Pros

- Offers a powerful, intuitive interface that allows creative game development without coding.
- Has a good variety of assets and extensions to use for game creation.
- Allows easy exporting of games directly to phones.
- Well-supported with tutorials and a supportive online version.
- Enables creativity and learning in game development.
- Free to use on desktop with many features available.
Cons
- Mobile version is limited compared to the PC/desktop version, lacking features and options.
- Many essential features such as saving projects and cloud storage are locked behind a paid subscription on mobile.
- The app has stability issues including crashes and bugs, especially with saving work.
- Cloud-based system for resources and saving can cause failures especially with poor internet, limiting offline use.
- Some UI elements are not optimized for mobile screens, making it hard to use.
- Restrictions and paywalls on mobile frustrate users who previously enjoyed free access.
- Difficulties importing assets and managing projects on mobile.
- Hard to make complex or full games on the mobile app without paying.

So I understand that without coding experience, you're not going to ever get anything seriously in depth. That said, this app only provides extremely linear designs. It doesn't allow for creative ideas so much as it provides templates for you to shift and mix around in semi-creative fashion.
