APP2Speak® is an adult-focused Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) speech app designed to help individuals who have lost the ability to speak or have difficulty communicating due to stroke, aphasia, ALS, head and neck cancer, dementia, and other conditions affecting speech and communication.
Developed by an experienced American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified speech-language pathologist, APP2Speak uses photo-based communication, providing a simple and familiar way to communicate.
Users can communicate by touching photographs to speak preprogrammed or personalized messages.
Its straightforward navigation, familiar photographs, and easy customization can help reduce the complexity often associated with AAC.
IMMEDIATE COMMUNICATION
APP2Speak includes four preprogrammed communication pages containing photographs, words, and speech output for common everyday needs and conversations. Users can begin communicating immediately and personalize the app as their needs change.
PERSONALIZED PHOTO-BASED COMMUNICATION
Create unlimited custom communication pages using personal photographs from your photo library, images, or photos taken directly within the app. One or more personalized phrases can be associated with each photograph.
Personal photographs can make communication more familiar, meaningful, and individualized while allowing users to express their own needs, preferences, relationships, and personality.
TEXT-TO-SPEECH
APP2Speak includes a text-to-speech page for creating novel messages. Frequently used words and phrases can be saved for quick access, helping conversations flow more naturally and efficiently.
PERSONAL RECORDED VOICE
APP2Speak allows personalized voice recordings to be associated with customized photographs and messages, providing another option for individualized communication.
SIMPLE CUSTOMIZATION
APP2Speak is designed so users, family members, caregivers, and speech-language pathologists can quickly personalize communication without extensive programming or special training.
