## Description

Google Device Policy is a Chrome extension for Google Workspace businesses. It lets IT Administrators mandate corporate security policies and enroll devices via the Google Device Policy app when Mobile Management is configured, helping keep enterprise data secure on employee devices.

The app can configure corporate WiFi networks and work apps required by the organization. For installation, usage, or uninstallation guidance, see https://support.google.com/a/users/answer/3521320.

## Review summary

Users broadly view Google Device Policy as intrusive and unreliable on iOS. The app spawns constant prompts to install or update, forces work-account management, and frequently blocks access to core Google apps. Many report sign-in failures and vague errors, plus persistent reinstall loops. Privacy concerns about remote device access are common, with some users uninstalling yet still facing prompts. Overall, it’s described as disruptive, with poor reliability and questionable necessity.

### Cons

- Persistent install/update prompts and reinstall loops that disrupt normal use.
- Forced installation/management for work accounts, requiring extensive device permissions.
- Unreliable core functionality: sign-in failures and inability to use key apps (Gmail, Slides, Chrome, etc.).
- Privacy and security concerns due to remote access / device management capabilities.
- Frequent update cycles or incompatibilities leading to blocking prompts and long wait times (e.g., hours) to access email.
