kame turns web articles into speech. Paste a link, tap Read, and kame finds the article, sets aside the menus, ads and clutter around it, and reads it to you in a natural voice.

Each sentence is highlighted as it is spoken, and the page scrolls with the voice, so you can read along or look away and just listen. Skip back to hear a sentence again, or skip ahead.

KEEPS READING WHEN YOU PUT THE PHONE DOWN
Playback carries on with the screen off or while you use other apps. Pause, resume and skip from the notification or the lock screen.

HOW IT WORKS
kame needs an internet connection: articles are fetched and voices are generated on kame's servers, then streamed to your phone a sentence at a time. Most news stories, blog posts and encyclopedia pages work well. Pages behind a paywall or login, or sites that block automated access, may not load.

kame means "turtle" in Japanese. It is unhurried, and it gets there.
