• The three-hour threshold for delays, measured at your final destination
• How much notice you got of a cancellation, and whether a replacement flight halves the amount
• Extraordinary circumstances such as bad weather or air traffic control strikes — the only lawful reason for an airline to refuse
• Flights from the UK under UK261, with amounts in pounds
