Reach confirms the exact meaning you met, with a definition, tone, and the phrases the word usually appears in. Words with several meanings are practiced one meaning at a time, and if you accidentally use a different one, that’s a discovery, not a failure: capture it as its own entry.

PROVE IT IN A SENTENCE
Recall beats re-reading, and writing beats recall. Reach asks you to use each word in a sentence of your own, then grades it like a good editor would: does it carry the meaning, is it natural, does it fit the word’s tone?
