## Description

TrueTune is a banjo tuner that tells you the truth about what it hears.

Play a string. TrueTune shows the note, how many cents you are away, and whether you are flat, in tune or sharp. When the room is too noisy or the note is not clear enough to trust, it says so instead of guessing.

TUNINGS FOR REAL BANJOS

Choose the tuning you actually play, and the strings are laid out the way you expect:

- Open G (gDGBD)
- Double C (gCGCD)
- Sawmill (gDGCD)
- Open D (f#DF#AD)
- Plectrum (CGBD)
- Tenor (CGDA) and Irish tenor (GDAE)
- Chromatic, for anything else

The re-entrant fifth string is handled properly, so you are never asked to do the octave arithmetic in your head.

AUTOMATIC OR ONE STRING AT A TIME

Automatic mode picks the nearest string as you play. Manual mode locks onto one string and stays there, which is what you want when you are bringing a badly out-of-tune string a long way back.

CLEAR, HONEST FEEDBACK

- The note you are playing, and the cents you are off by
- Flat, In Tune or Sharp, in plain words
- In Tune is only declared after the pitch holds steady, not the instant it passes through
- Silence, background noise and out-of-range notes each get their own honest message

MORE THAN A TUNER

- Metronome: 30 to 240 BPM, tap tempo, time signatures from 2/4 to 12/8, subdivisions, accent, and sound, haptic or screen-flash output
- Reference tone: pick a note from your tuning and play it back to tune by ear, with a bounded volume that starts quiet
- History: how long you tuned for and how steady you were, kept on your device
- Settings: reference pitch from 415 to 466 Hz, in-tune tolerance of 2, 5 or 10 cents, sensitivity, note naming, light or dark appearance

BUILT TO BE PRIVATE

Audio is analysed on your device to work out pitch. It is never recorded, never stored and never uploaded. The app makes no network connections at all, so everything keeps working with no signal - in a practice room, a festival field or a basement.
