## Description

HOW IT WORKS
Calibrate on a clear patch of wall, then slide the phone sideways. The reading climbs as you approach metal and peaks right over it. Mark the spot, then drill with confidence.

WHAT PEOPLE USE IT FOR
Hanging a TV, mounting shelves, putting up pictures and mirrors, tracing screws and nails in drywall, and checking a spot before it becomes a hole.

Metal Detector reads magnetic field strength on an LED ladder or an analog dial. Stud Finder maps a run of wall so you can see where the fixings sit.

What it can and cannot do: the app reads your device's magnetometer, so it detects metal. It finds the fixings that hold a stud, not the timber itself, and gives an estimate rather than a measurement. It cannot see through walls, it does not detect wood, and it does not detect live electrical wiring. Always check before you drill.
