Forty minutes waiting in a parking lot. A coffee at the charging stall. The whole evening after the engine goes quiet at a campsite. When the car stops and the big screen comes on, the waiting stops being just waiting.

DashCast turns this iPhone into a cast target: video stored here, media on your local network, and anything cast over from another app or another device all reach the car screen — no extra cable, no box to buy.

WHERE CONTENT COMES FROM — FOUR SOURCES, MOST DEPENDABLE FIRST

1. On this iPhone
Import from Photos or Files. The most dependable option: no network needed, no other app needed, and it stays available once imported. Works in a parking garage with no signal.

2. Local network / NAS
Browse the media library on a NAS or computer directly — they only need to be on the same Wi-Fi. No vendor app required. These addresses don't expire, so you can replay anything any time. Works with Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Synology and any other DLNA/UPnP media server.

3. Cast from a video app
In an app that supports DLNA casting, tap "TV" or "Cast" and choose DashCast. The button is usually in the top-right corner of the player.

4. Sent over from another device
Put a back-seat passenger's phone or tablet on the same Wi-Fi (a personal hotspot works too) and DashCast appears in their cast list — whoever wants to watch something can send it over themselves.

BUILT FOR THE ROAD

· Adjustable A/V sync — car audio over Bluetooth often lags behind the picture. DashCast lets you hold the video back to match, anywhere from -1s to +5s. It is the most common annoyance in a car and the one almost no app addresses.
· Resume where you left off — playback position is remembered automatically.
· 30 interface languages — independent of your system language, switchable in-app.
· Also casts to a TV — the AirPlay button in the player works with Apple TV and AirPlay-capable televisions.

PRIVACY: NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVERS

No sign-up, no sign-in. Imported video, playback history and every setting stay on your own iPhone. DashCast contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs. We run no servers, so we have none of your data.

BEFORE YOU BUY IN — PLEASE READ

· Video on the car screen requires a car that supports video output, and is only available while parked. That is enforced by the in-car system; no app can work around it. Cars without it fall back to audio automatically.
· Subscription content is usually DRM protected and generally cannot be cast. The cast button may be disabled, or only a preview is sent. That is decided by the content provider, not by DashCast.
· Supports MP4, MOV, M4V and the other H.264 / HEVC formats iPhone plays natively.
· Casting between devices needs a shared local network. On cellular only — common in a car — apps on this iPhone can still cast to it, but other devices won't find it, because carrier networks don't forward local discovery messages.
