## Description

A hand-drawn chess adventure for pre-readers, ages 4–8. Every square is safe to try — wrong taps just bounce, never a fail state. 100% offline, nothing collected.

Chessimals teaches real chess to kids who can't read yet — ages 4 to 8, no words on screen, no pressure, and no wrong answer that ends the fun.

Every chess piece gets its own hand-drawn animal hero. Your child taps and swipes across five lands — Rook Valley, Bishop Bay, Pawn's Patch, Knight's Pond, and the Queen & King's castle — each one waking into full color as its boss is beaten. Twenty-six minigames and seven boss battles teach one piece's real movement at a time: the elephant slides straight like a rook, the chick swoops on diagonals like a bishop, the bunny learns marching straight versus biting diagonally like a pawn, the unicorn hops in L-shapes like a knight — until the kitten queen and lion king bring it together in a gentle rescue finale.

Nothing here can be gotten "wrong" in a way that stops the fun. Illegal moves just wobble back home with a friendly boing — no red X, no buzzer, no game-over screen. Lose a boss battle? Try again free, as many times as it takes. The one real test in the whole app is a short check at the end of each land, where your child shows a baby animal the move they just learned — and it only counts as mastered if they get it right on their own, with no highlights to lean on.

That honesty matters, because the moves themselves are real chess, not a simplified pretend version. A king is never offered a move into danger while a safe one exists. The castle finale is won the way real chess is actually won: trapping the king so every escape square is covered and his own square is under threat — the same core idea as checkmate, taught as protection, never violence, in the order many scholastic chess coaches actually use: straight lines, then diagonals, then move-versus-capture, then leaping, before anything combines.

Every character — heroes and rivals alike — is hand-drawn in one warm, consistent style, not stock art stitched together. The whole game plays without reading a single word: icons, motion, and sound carry every instruction.
