Just tap two squares to swap them. When every tile turns green, you've solved it. As you play, the words you discover collect in your in-app dictionary — a fun, playful way to build Japanese vocabulary and practice hiragana.

The game is played entirely in Japanese (hiragana), so it's perfect for native speakers and a great, low-pressure way to study Japanese.

■ Six puzzles a day — just today's set

Three "ring" puzzles and three "cross" puzzles arrive every day (six in all), from easy to satisfyingly tricky. Each one takes just a few minutes. There's a clear "that's it for today," so it's easy to keep coming back.

■ Solved words fill your Picture Dictionary

Every word you complete is saved — together with its meaning. Over 1,100 words fill in little by little, sorted by category. The date you first collected each word is saved too, so it's fun to look back later.

■ The more you play, the more rewards

Clear one puzzle to extend your daily streak. Every 3 days of play, you get free Hints and extra Moves.

Keep playing to unlock special regional boards:
