## Description

The private food journal for people who suspect their meals and their days are connected — and want to check without turning it into a job

AfterMeal is a small, private journal for what you eat and how you feel afterwards. It lives on your phone. Nothing syncs, nothing uploads. No account, no ads, nothing to pay for.

Most of us carry a vague suspicion — that a certain lunch flattens the afternoon, that late coffee wrecks the sleep — but we never write any of it down, so the suspicion stays a suspicion. This app is the writing-it-down part, made fast enough that you'll actually do it.

You log a meal in about five seconds: a name, a time, optionally a photo, portion, or tag. Three times a day the app asks how you're doing — not with one overall score, but with four separate sliders: energy, digestion, mental clarity, mood. They stay separate everywhere, because the point is noticing when your energy is fine but your gut isn't. Symptoms — headache, bloating, brain fog, cravings, and more — get logged the moment they happen, with a severity.

After twenty-one complete days, Trends starts to have something to say. Not before. Below three weeks, patterns are usually coincidences dressed up as graphs, and this app refuses to be that kind of graph. You get four views: Feelings (each dimension over time, gaps left as gaps), Patterns (foods and tags that sit alongside your best and worst days), Symptoms (what's showing up and how badly), and an optional Nutrition tab with rough calorie and protein estimates. No targets. No red numbers. Context, not scolding.

No streaks. No analytics. No medical claims — it's a journal, not a doctor. Everything stays on your device. Export the whole thing any time as a readable JSON file plus a folder of your photos. Automatic backup to a Files folder is optional. Delete-everything is one button and means everything.

If that sounds like the tool you were hoping for, welcome. If you wanted a coach or a leaderboard, this isn't that app — and that's the whole point of it.
