## Description

A private notebook that files itself. Capture from anywhere, then find things by
describing them — not by remembering the words you used.

Moraine is where everything you notice goes.

A thought at a traffic light. A link you'll want in a year. A voice memo on a walk. A
journal entry at the end of the day. Moraine takes all of it through whichever door is
nearest, and then does the filing for you.

Each thing that lands gets a title, a short summary and a handful of tags, written on
your device. You never have to name anything, file anything, or decide where it belongs.
You just put it in.

MORE DOORS THAN A NOTEBOOK NEEDS
• The app — a note, journal entry, link or voice memo, with photos and video attached
• The share sheet — from anywhere on iPhone or iPad
• Safari on Mac — clips the readable article, not the page furniture
• Siri and the Action Button — "Add a note to Moraine saying pick up oat milk"
• Home and Lock Screen widgets — one tap to a blank note or a recording
• The Mac menu bar, a global hotkey, and drag and drop

FIND IT BY WHAT YOU MEANT
Search matches words and meaning. Ask for "the argument about moving house" and Moraine
finds the entry where you never wrote any of those words. Every entry shows the ones
nearest to it in meaning, and old writing occasionally resurfaces on its own — an
anniversary, or something from years ago that is close to what you have been writing
lately.

WAYS BACK IN
A calendar that runs both directions: what you captured on a day, beside what was in
your diary. A map of where you were. A tag cloud. A photo wall. Stats. Separate journals
for work, travel, or whatever you keep apart.

BRING YOUR OLD JOURNAL WITH YOU
Moraine imports a Day One export — entries, dates, tags, places, weather, favourites,
photos and video — and Apple's Journal export too. Nothing is silently dropped: if
something can't come across, the result says so and counts it. Import is free and
untimed.

ON YOUR DEVICE, NOT OURS
There is no Moraine account and no Moraine server. Titles, summaries, tags, the search
index and voice transcription are all produced on your device. Your library lives on
your devices and syncs through your own private iCloud database, which nobody else —
including the developer — can read. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs.

The handful of things that touch a server are off until you switch them on, and the
privacy policy names every one of them.

YOURS TO TAKE, ALWAYS
Export writes plain JSON with your photos and recordings beside it as ordinary files,
and a page that shows the whole library in any browser with Moraine deleted. The format
is documented at hoardplovers.github.io/moraine-site/format.html, so someone else could
read it back. Snapshot to Files keeps a copy on the device with one tap. Save as PDF sets
a year, a journal or the lot as a book — cover, contents, a chapter a month, photographs
beside the writing — at A5, 6 × 9 in or A4. Export always works — during the trial,
after it, bought or not.

FREE FOR 14 DAYS
Everything works for two weeks. After that, capture, browsing, keyword search, import
and export keep working for good. The on-device intelligence — generated titles,
summaries and tags, search by meaning, related entries and resurfacing — is what unlocks
with a single one-time purchase. No subscription and no account. One purchase covers
your iPhone, iPad and Mac, and Family Sharing is on.

Requires iOS 26 or macOS 26. Generated titles, summaries and tags are at their best on
devices that support Apple Intelligence; without it, Moraine still titles and tags every
entry using a simpler on-device method.
