## Description

CapTran is an on-device live translation and file transcription tool.

CapTran provides live translation captions. CapTran receives audio from another app, then performs speech recognition and translation on your device. View captions inside CapTran or as floating Picture in Picture captions above another app.

Import an audio or video file and convert speech into text and subtitles directly on your device. It is useful for courses, meetings, interviews, and video content. After transcription, view the generated captions and export them as SRT files.

For recognition and translation:

1. Download the iOS speech and translation models you need
2. Tap “Start Translating”
3. Choose CapTran from the system broadcast list

Choose original captions, translated captions, or both.

CapTran does not upload audio to a cloud service or record audio. After the required models are prepared, you can continue using CapTran offline.

CapTran Pro supports saved transcripts with timestamps, srt export, and video import so you can transcribe recorded video and export subtitles as .srt. Some premium features require an in-app purchase or subscription.
