Hold to capture a bark, and read the pitch and tempo behind it. Then keep capturing, because one bark tells you very little and a fortnight of them tells you a great deal.

WHAT'S INSIDE

Listen
Capture a bark and read the mood behind it, or speak and hear your own tone come back as a bark that matches it. Every capture is analysed on your phone, and the reading shows the acoustic basis for it rather than just a verdict.

Log
Every capture is kept, and plotted on the pitch and tempo grid the readings are resolved against. See where your dog's voice actually sits, which state comes up most often, and which hours of the day they are loudest. This is the part that turns a one-off reading into something worth having.

Call index
Eleven recorded dog sounds, indexed by what each one signals. Sounds that can stress a dog nearby are marked, and ask before they play.

Method
Twelve drills and twenty field notes, drawn from published guidance by AVSAB, Dogs Trust and Battersea. Sit, stay, recall, loose-lead walking, house training and more.

Signal
A whistle from 80 Hz to 20 kHz and four clicker tones, for when you are actually out training.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Recordings never leave your phone. There is no upload, no server and no cloud processing — the analysis runs entirely on your device, and the app works with aeroplane mode on. Your log is stored on the handset too, not in an account, and deleting the app deletes it.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT THIS IS

CanineComm reads real acoustic features of a sound — pitch, tempo, the gaps between barks — and maps them onto emotional states described in published canine bioacoustics research. It is an evidence-led reading of your dog's mood. It is not a literal word-for-word translator, and no app is.
