Dictionary is the entire English language, bundled inside one app. 740,000 words with definitions, example sentences, pronunciations, and synonyms — and every one of them works with no internet connection at all.

No network, ever. The app makes zero network requests. Look up words on a plane, on the subway, or anywhere else the modern web can't follow you.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing watching you. The words you look up never leave your iPhone.

Fast. Search responds as you type, with smart handling of inflections — type "ran" and land on "run", "geese" and land on "goose".

Browse the whole language. Scroll the full word list from A to zyzzyva with an index scrubber, like a paper dictionary that weighs nothing.

Made for reading. Definitions are set in a classic book typeface, with the modern sense first — no wading through obsolete meanings from 1611 to find out what a word means today.

History and favorites. Every word you look up is kept (on your device) so you can find it again, and a heart saves the keepers.

Definitions come from the English Wiktionary, written by thousands of volunteer editors, and are used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license.
