## Description

Check tap, well, and community water quality for any U.S. ZIP code, scored against EPA limits - plus private-well testing plans and a live map. Now in Spanish.

TapTrace turns confusing water data into a clear picture of what's in the water where you live, travel, or draw from a private well.

Type any U.S. ZIP code, and TapTrace pulls public monitoring data - U.S. EPA drinking-water records, USGS stations, and readings the community has shared - and scores each contaminant against EPA limits. You get a plain-language read on microbial safety, chemical safety, PFAS ("forever chemicals"), and aesthetic factors like hardness and total dissolved solids, with the confidence level of the data behind every result.

FEATURES
- Check any area: a ZIP-level report with year-by-year trends, a multi-year contaminant chart, and neighborhood context.
- Compare two areas side by side - by ZIP or by county.
- Explore the map: a heat view of monitoring readings across the U.S. and a European pilot, colored by EPA comparison.
- Plan for a private well: answer a short survey, get a testing + treatment plan mapped to the right NSF/ANSI certifications, log lab results, and set a yearly retest reminder, all kept on your device.
- Travel mode: see the nearest cleaner sources when you're away from home.
- Contribute: optionally submit your own readings to help your community. Photos are stripped of location metadata, and we never upload your exact position at full precision.

BUILT ON REAL DATA
Readings come from public U.S. EPA and USGS sources, an EU EEA open-data pilot, and community submissions. TapTrace tells you how many stations and readings a result is based on, and flags when coverage is thin so you never mistake "no data" for "clean."

PRIVACY FIRST
No account is required to check water or plan a private well. Community sharing is off by default - you turn it on only if you choose to contribute. Your well profile and test log stay on your device. See our privacy policy for details.

AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH
Switch the in-app language anytime from Profile → App settings.

IMPORTANT
TapTrace is an informational tool, not a safety determination or medical advice. Regulated and community readings describe monitoring near an area - your own tap
or well can differ. Only a state-certified lab test of your own water is definitive.
