CatWind turns your Apple Watch into a wind and speed instrument built for the water. Crafted by a novice catamaran sailor, made for those who just want the wind.

Raise your wrist and see an orange arrow pointing downwind — updated live as you move, relative to the direction you're facing. No fumbling with your phone. No looking away from the sail. Just the wind, at a glance.

ON THE WATER. 
Start a sailing session and CatWind tracks the essentials: wind direction and speed from Apple WeatherKit, your boat speed over ground from GPS, elapsed time, and distance covered. Swipe left to reach the compass view — a full wind arrow with a north bug and cardinal marks, designed to stay readable in direct sunlight. Swipe again for session controls.

Tap the speed readout to toggle between wind speed and boat speed. Pause and resume from your wrist, or use the system workout controls. The app stays active for the whole sail using a HealthKit workout session, so nothing stops tracking when your wrist drops.

AFTER THE SAIL. 
End the session and get a clean summary: top speed, distance, and time--all the data that tells you how much you had fun! Every session is saved on-device and browsable in History. Name your sessions, share a stat card via Messages, or swipe to delete.

ON YOUR WATCH FACE. 
Add the CatWind complication to any watch face for a quick read of current wind speed and direction between sails.
