## Description

You run the company the year the river turns. Read the papers, weigh the memos, stamp the decision - then live with what the headlines make of it.

You are the chief executive of Meridian Electric, and it is the mid-1970s. For thirty years your plants on the Sable River did exactly what the permits allowed. This week a hearing officer, a toxicologist, a union local, a fisherman, and every newspaper in the state would like you to decide - in public - what that was worth.

49th Floor is a short, serious game about running a company: big decisions made on thin information, where you are strangely powerful and strangely powerless at once. You don't fight or explore. You read. Memos land on your desk with the inconvenient parts underlined. The evening paper - The People's Truth - tells you what your last move "meant," and it is never quite sure whether you were right. You stamp APPROVE or DENY, and the world answers back.

This is a consequence simulator, not a morality test. There is no score and no lecture - only the plants that feed twelve hundred families, the river that fed forty-one, and the arithmetic nobody wants to do out loud. What really happened is waiting in the archive at the end.
